Gas Main Works update – Riddlesdown Rd is now fully RE-OPEN from late 17 February ’26 and the diversion route has been taken away. This also includes the section of road going towards Riddlesdown Open Space car park.

The Contractor WCB Utilities advise us they still have to jet wash some sections of the road and there is still an excavation near to 126 Riddlesdown Rd which motorists need to be aware of.

Amended weekend train services for Riddlesdown;
We have received this e-mail below from GTR reminding about the engineering works every weekend in January (and later in the year) on the main London to Brighton rail. According to the National Rail website, this WILL have an impact for Riddlesdown train services (and Sanderstead & Upper Warlingham) as they will be hourly only, going to/from London Bridge on both Saturdays and Sundays.

GTR (Southern Railway & Thameslink) have announced today (8/11/25) in an e-mail that they are gradually reinstating the half-hourly service during the weekdays from 14 December 2025 for the East Grinstead line (including Riddlesdown). But there are some catches!

They advise;
“Services between East Grinstead and London Victoria – Monday to Friday
To make it easier for people to travel during the middle of the day, services between East Grinstead and London Victoria will now be half-hourly during the middle of the day on weekdays, rather than hourly.

Riddlesdown Open Space (end of Riddlesdown Rd) – Car Parking Charges commenced on 25 January 2021

The City of London brought in new parking charges to both Riddlesdown and Farthing Downs car parks from Monday 25 January 2021. A number of residents contacted us and Ward Cllrs about this and particular about the concern of further on street parking to nearby roads, particularly close to Riddlesdown Open Space.
